Incoming Mail Delays Tuesday 10th November 2020 10:20:00 am

We're aware of incoming email delays for some customers due to an ongoing inbound SMTP spam attack.

This is currently under investigation to block the attack.

The queue is now fully clear and mail flowing in real time.

Any remotely queued messages will be re-attempted over the next few hours depending on the sending servers retry policy.

We will continue to monitor the queues throughout the evening.

Mail continues to flow and queues are reducing.

Mail is flowing and the backlog of legitimate emails is reducing.

Email may not be received in order, newer messages may be processed quicker than queued messages. This is to be expected and not indicative of a loss of email between the periods.

We are still working to clear the queued messages but also block the attack.

Due to distrubuted nature of this and that the port has to remain active for legitimate connections, blocking is not straight forward but we are working to do what we can as quick as possible.
