BT have advised us of planned maintenance that will affect customers country-wide on most ISPs.

This work is required so that BT can carry out hardware upgrades.

BT advise that some customers may have outages up to 4 hours and should only affect BT-based Home and Office services on the 21CN network.

Emails from XILO to Gmail marked as spam

4:50pm, 7th September 2010

We have received an increasing number of reports from Gmail users that messages from XILO (from our billing system, customer support centre and community forum) are being marked as spam and subsequently moved out of the main Gmail inbox.

On testing this from all of our systems, we were unable to replicate the problem and have attempted to contact Google various times over the last two weeks without any response.

All of our domains are setup with SPF (sender policy framework) to help improve the mail delivery rate and we have now implemented DomainKeys across all of our services which should also help.

We ask that if you have contacted us recently and received no reply, that you check your spam folder. Also, adding our domains to your white/safe list within Gmail, would prevent messages being classed as spam. Also, clicking the "not spam" link within the message will hopefully inform Gmail that it is processing the email incorrectly so that they can adjust their filters.

Finally, we would like to stress this does not affect customer email being sent to Google. Only email from our domains and administrative IP range appears affected.

We are seeing a repeat of this morning DoS attack against delta. We are investigating currently.

Update: This is now in service and we are actively monitoring for any repeat. Due to the nature of a DoS, of which now appears to be a DDoS, it can be very hard to block and identify the source.

We are investigating currently but only appears to be affecting the 224 peering LAN.
Update - 2:37pm: We have been informed that this issue is due to a power outage in Telehouse which is affecting Linx and Lonap exchange points.
